Ending with this year's fall set styled by Carine Roitfeld, it seems that the current Chanel campaign will be the last one for Freja Beha Erichsen. Roitfeld, former editor-in-chief of the French Vogue and Karl Lagerfeld reteamed last weekend at the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes, France, to shoot the new campaign for Spring 2012 - styles "about athletics and the sea, very modern, sportif and in black and white,” announced Lagerfeld. If we give credence to Fashionologie, Joan Smalls (left) and Saskia de Brauw outstripped their model colleague Erichsen, who will no longer be fronting the brand.

So debonair, so self-mocking.
Thursday, June 30, 2011 at 11:19 AMI really had to refrain myself from laughing, but this photo is not bad at all!!
I salute him for being that self-mocking 'cause many celebs wouldn't. Good thing, that Karl always springs for a surprise.
Behind the scenes: The muses
Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at 12:29 PMIt's obvious that nearly every designer gets inspired by his or her faved muse. They're the source of inspiration, mostly models or outstanding personalities. So far so good. This June, W magazine issued a special love affair: between designers and their musician muses. Photographer Max Vadukul captured ten famous designers with the musicians who inspired them the most, like Florence Welch, the flame-haired frontwoman of the British pop band Florence and the Machine, Kanye West, or Yoko Ono. I like the idea of looking behind the scenes and get a clue where all the designers get their inspiration from. But to be honest, I favor the monochrome photos, but maybe it's just a matter of taste.

1) Karl Lagerfeld about Janelle Monae, an Atlanta-based artist:
"We liked each other from the first second on. Not just because of out style, but also the name: Janelle rhymes with Chanel, no?"
2) Donatelle Versace about M.I.A.:
"Her music and style seemed so fresh and innovative. She is a total artist."
3) Laura Mulleavy by Rodarte about Kanye West:
"[His] mixing of art forms and genres is something I respond to"
4) Francisco Costa of Calvin Klein about Esperanza Spalding, Jazz-Bassist:
"I admire her passion and confidence - she is truly a free spirit"
5) Christopher Baily of Burberry about George Craig, frontman of One Night Only:
"For me, George embodies the modern British look"
6) Diplo, DJ and Producer about Alexander Wang:
"Before I'd talk to girls about my music and they'd say, 'Yeah, thats cool'. Now I tell them I'm in the Alexander Wang ads and they want to have my children."
7) Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough of Proenza Schouler about Yoko Ono:
"We're really attracted to independent spirits, people who dont follow trends. Yoko pretty much personifies that"
8) Frida Giannini about Florence Welch, frontwoman of Florence of the Machine:
"I was captivated by her eccentric style and her willingness to dare."
