Winners Of 2011 MMFF Awards Night

The just concluded Awards Night of the 37th Metro Manila Film Festival as usual has controversies. Regal Films' "Yesterday, Today And Tomorrow" has been disqualified in major categories including Best Picture and Best Screenplay, Best Director and the Gatpuno Villegas Cultural Awards because, as MMFF executive chairman Francis Tolentino said, Regal Entertainment changes the pre-approved cast and storyline which is against the Festival's policy. But Mother Lily Monteverde said that they advised the committee about the changes. On the lighter side, the movie won the Best Actress trophy for Maricel Soriano. Whew! Every year MMFF always dishes out controversies. Below are winners of this year's MMFF and "Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story" went home with the most number of awards.

"Shake, Rattle & Roll XIII" Teaser

Dubbed as the most shocking, thrilling & terrifying installment yet, the "Shake, Rattle & Roll" franchise is back for the 13th time. An official entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival 2011, Regal Entertainment presents the episodes "Lunod", "Tamawo" and "Parola" and will star Eugene Domingo, Maricar Reyes, Bugoy Carino, Sam Concepcion, Edgar Allan Guzman, Zanjoe Marudo and Kathryn Bernardo. Last year's SRR sucks except for the "Punerarya" episode, will this year's entry bring back the "Shake, Rattle & Roll" magic? What's your fav'rite SRR episode ever? "Yesterday Today & Tomorrow" Movie Teaser

Diamond Star Maricel Soriano is back in the big screen via her MMFF 2011 entry "Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow" under Regal Entertainment. She will join a cast of talented artists namely Gabby Concepcion, Jericho Rosales, Dennis Trillo(above photo), Lovi Poe, Agot Isidro, Solenn Heusaff, Ronaldo Valdez, Eula Caballero and Paulo Avelino. Aswang Teaser

From the production that bought us the Shake Rattle & Roll franchise, Regal Entertainment proudly presents "Aswang", a horror movie that stars Lovi Poe, Paulo Avelino, Jillian Ward & introducing Albie Casino.At first I thought it was a remake of the Manilyn Reynes-Aiza Seguerra-Alma Moreno's Aswang released back in the 90's but by watching the trailer it looks like a totally different concept, it's going more into the Twilight storyline. Temptation Island 2nd Theatrical Trailer

Regal and GMA films brings back the 80's hit Temptation Island. They used the old screenplay with some additional lines to make it modern. Marian Rivera lead the cast of Temptation Island with Rufa Mae Quinto, Heart Evangelista, Lovi Poe, Solenn Heusaff and John Lapus with hunk actors Aljur Abrenica, Tom Rodriguez and introducing Mikael Daez with the special participation of Dennis Trillo. Written and directed by Chris Martinez, the movie is set to be release on July 7. Will you watch Temptation Island 2011? Me? Yes just because of Rufa Mae, the boys and I liked the original, I wanna see them exceed the first one!

Regal Films and GMA Films joined force to remake an epic movie from the 80's. The 2011 version of Joey Gosengfiao's Temptation Island is set to be release this June, top billed by Marian Rivera, Heart Evangelista, Lovi Poe, Solenn Heusaff and Rufa Mae Quinto. I will watch this movie just because of Rufa Mae! And of course because of the movie's gorgeous Hunks: Aljur Abrenica, Tom Rodriguez and Mikael Daez. John Lapus also joins the cast. Are you excited for Temptation Island?

This is one remake I hope is worth watching for! Three reasons why I will see the 2011 remake of Joey Gosengfiao's Temptation Island.

1. The original was great! Especially their epic Lines! Haha!

Marian Rivera will lead the remake of Temptation Island. There has been a lot of recasting in this movie until GMA Films and Regal Films finalized the casting with Rufa Mae Quinto, Solenn Heusaff, Lovi Poe, John Lapus and Heart Evangelista.Directed by Chris Martinez, this should be a riot Sexy comedy just like the 1980 original hit by the late director Joey Gosengfiao.Tentative play date for this movie is this June.
