Winners Of 2011 MMFF Awards Night

The just concluded Awards Night of the 37th Metro Manila Film Festival as usual has controversies. Regal Films' "Yesterday, Today And Tomorrow" has been disqualified in major categories including Best Picture and Best Screenplay, Best Director and the Gatpuno Villegas Cultural Awards because, as MMFF executive chairman Francis Tolentino said, Regal Entertainment changes the pre-approved cast and storyline which is against the Festival's policy. But Mother Lily Monteverde said that they advised the committee about the changes. On the lighter side, the movie won the Best Actress trophy for Maricel Soriano. Whew! Every year MMFF always dishes out controversies. Below are winners of this year's MMFF and "Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story" went home with the most number of awards.

Enteng Ng Ina Mo! Full Trailer And Poster

This is going to be 2011 MMFF's front runner! The whole gang from two box-office movies of MMFF history "Enteng Kabisote" and "Tanging Ina Mo" join forces to bring us the most memorable Film fest movie of all time! Star Cinema and M-zet Films along with Apt Entertainment and Octo Arts Films will combine the box-office appeal of Vic Sotto and Aiai delas Alas in "Enteng Ng Ina Mo!", (sigh!) I'm glad that Eugene Domingo is back to support Aiai! Although Wenn Deramas is not the director of this one, Tony Reyes directed this big project. "Enteng Ng Ina Mo!" is showing on December 25th and will battle it out with 7 more Metro Manila Film Festival Entries.

Segunda Mano Trailer

From the production house that brought us "Feng Shui" and "Sukob", Star Cinema along with AgosTodos Pictures and MJM Productions presents another horror movie that will scare you this Christmas. "Segunda Mano" is a scary story about haunted second hand items or now commonly known as "Ukay". The Queen of horror Kris Aquino(Sukob & Dalaw) lead the casts that also includes Angelica Panganiban(Bulong) and Dingdong Dantes(Spirit Of The Glass). "Segunda Mano" is an official entry to the 2011 Metro Manila Film Festival and is directed by Bb.Joyce Bernal. Do you think the movie trailer is scary? I hope this is better than last year's "Dalaw".

"Shake, Rattle & Roll XIII" Teaser

Dubbed as the most shocking, thrilling & terrifying installment yet, the "Shake, Rattle & Roll" franchise is back for the 13th time. An official entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival 2011, Regal Entertainment presents the episodes "Lunod", "Tamawo" and "Parola" and will star Eugene Domingo, Maricar Reyes, Bugoy Carino, Sam Concepcion, Edgar Allan Guzman, Zanjoe Marudo and Kathryn Bernardo. Last year's SRR sucks except for the "Punerarya" episode, will this year's entry bring back the "Shake, Rattle & Roll" magic? What's your fav'rite SRR episode ever? Here comes another movie from the Queen of Horror, Kris Aquino (Feng Shui, Sukob & Dalaw), "Segunda Mano" or "Second Hand" is an official entry to the Metro Manila Film Film Festival 2011 and will open December 25th. The horror film also stars Dingdong Dantes and Angelica Panganiban. I will surely watch this one but I just hope it won't dissapoint me like what "Dalaw" did.
